Michael Zelbel is a classy boudoir photography expert from Germany who specializes in glamour & beauty photography. In recent years, he’s become well known for publishing great lighting information on his blog, SmokingStrobes. I love the fact that Michael is so passionate about his craft and loves to share information so freely. Because of the hard work he puts into creating free content, he’s gathered a large following on the Internet.

Perfectly Clear Lightroom and Photoshop plugin by Athentech Imaging, autocorrects your photos. It first scans your photo, then uses a patented algorithm to decide what kind of adjustments need to be made. Noise will be removed, red-eye will be detected and obliterated, exposure will be adjusted, images will be sharpened, and white balance will be perfected. All of this happens instantly right after you open the plugin. There’s no need to make manual adjustments (unless you want to).
That sounds spectacular, but if you’re like me, you’re probably skeptical about any program that claims that it automatically fixes everything. You don’t shoot in “auto mode” with your DSLR, so why should you edit in “auto mode” in post-processing. Does the program actually deliver good results?

Focus and Recompose Technique
To find focus with the center focus point, then re-orient the camera until the correct framing is achieved.
I must admit that I’m a photographer who has used the focus and recompose technique in the past, but after getting several out of focus shots during my photo shoots (especially at f/2.8 or faster), I decided to look into the topic further.

$1 Million for the World’s most incredible photo
If you think you can take the world’s most incredible photo, you can win a million dollars.
Yes, it’s for real. A MILLION dollars.
ShutterbugSocial is launching an online contest called “Shutterbug Millionaire,” where they will scour the world for the most impressive photographs (to be judged by world famous photographer, Russell James).

One talented photographer will win a million dollars, and overall the prizes will total over 1.5 million dollars. According to a press release, the contest will feature some reality-TV elements.
Specifics haven’t been released, and there’s not very much information on the contest site (like the judging criteria).
How do you even begin to judge which photo is the world’s most incredible? Russell James sure has his work cut out for him.
It should be incredibly interesting to see how this contest pans out. I bet we’ll get to see the work of some incredible professional photographers, but it would be really cool to see some unknown photographer burst onto the scene with a win.
It could even be you.
Any PhotoWhoa readers going to enter?
My name is Kevin Tang and I’m one of the co-founders of PhotoWhoa (cool photography stuff and deals site).
For the past year we’ve been on a mission to help you discover photography products that we think you’ll love.
Our blog will be an extension of that mission. We will be finding the cool photography stuff on the web and sharing it with you guys. That includes tutorials, videos, interviews, and much more.
Also we realize that not every product at PhotoWhoa fits every consumer. On our blog we will be sharing our personal insights about each product that we sell at PhotoWhoa so you have more information to make an informed decision. If we’re selling a retouching software, we’ll show you extra before & afters that our team created using the software. If we’re selling a tutorial, we’ll interview the talented photographer who created the tutorial. Hopefully, this will allow you to make better choices about what product will fit your needs.
But besides just helping you discover awesome photography products, our goal is to help other fellow photographers become amazing at their craft. To that end, we’re going to write and curate amazing informational articles for you absolutely free.
